Upon arriving at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, it is recommended to proceed to Lingsey, an unexplored, offbeat riverside hamlet in the Kalimpong hills. Lingsey, also known as Lingsay, is a picturesque village situated at an elevation of 4,800 feet in the Kalimpong District of West Bengal, India. It’s renowned for its serene natural beauty, cultural heritage, and proximity to the West Bengal-Sikkim border. If you’re seeking a tranquil escape into nature, Lingsey is a delightful destination. The river also offers excellent opportunities for bathing and barbecues! After lunch, a leisurely stroll through the village is suggested for a rejuvenating experience amidst the melodious songs of birds and the serene greenery. The elegantly designed homestay is particularly favored by tourists seeking a peaceful setting near the river to spend quality time with loved ones. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the river, especially on clear, full moon nights.
After breakfast, proceed towards Gaddigaon. En route, visit the picturesque Mulkharka village, where you can discover Fussrey Lake, a hidden gem and a sacred body of water reflecting the majestic Kanchenjungha mountain. Following this, visit Mankhim View Point and the local monastery. In the afternoon, explore the local village on foot and enjoy boating at the renowned Lampokhari Lake. Later, relax on the expansive lawn of Basera Retreat, where you can once again behold the majestic Mount Kanchenjunga and relish the breathtaking views of verdant valleys. While there, observe a variety of familiar and unfamiliar avian species in the surrounding area.
After concluding the morning meal, it is imperative to take leave of Gaddigaon and make way towards Zuluk, following a visit to AritarLake and SiddhiVinayak Temple. Prior to embarking on the journey through the restricted region of Eastern Sikkim, which is in close proximity to the Indo-Chinese Border, it is mandatory to complete all permit procedures at Rongli. Along the way, it is recommended to visit Kuekhola falls and Phadamchen.
Commence your day by partaking in breakfast, followed by a visit to Zig-Zag Way, Thambi View Point, Lungthu Sunrise Point, Gnathang Valley, Old Baba Mandir, Tukla Valley, and Kupup Lake. Conclude your day by returning to AGAMLOK for an overnight stay.
In the early hours of the morning, embark on a brief trek to School Dara View Point to behold the awe-inspiring valley vista. During winter, the snow-capped Zuluk and Lungthu regions visible from this vantage point will captivate your senses. Following breakfast, pay a visit to the Agamlok monastery before bidding farewell to Agamlok and proceeding to either the NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport for your upcoming travels, all the while cherishing the unforgettable memories.
